We're both from the Netherlands, where we met, fell in love and got married. Together we're raising our 8-year-old son Beau and 13-year-old twins Belle & Dex. Each holiday home (gîte) is designed in the them of 1 of the natural elements. Each gîte has a fully-equipped kitchen including dishwasher, Nespresso Machine, fridge, oven or combined microwave and HD flat-screen TV. Free WIFI connection everywhere. Private terrace, great beds and rain shower in each gîte available.
Gîte Terre
This authentic gîte was formerly the farm house. The house has been completely renovated and the hidden characteristic elements have been brought back to their original state.
The living room with open kitchen has a cosy wood-burning stove. Through the French doors you reach the private terrace, overlooking the valley. There are 2 large double bedrooms. An extra bed can be added on request. The bathroom has a spacious walk-in shower, toilet and a sink. All rooms are on the ground floor. The surface area is about 75 m2.
Gîte Feu
Gîte Feu used to be the bakery. Bread was baked here not only for its own family, but also for the families in the area. Now it is a comfortable, spacious and cosy flat. On the ground floor are the kitchen, the toilet and the living room with a cosy wood-burning stove. Through the French doors you reach the private terrace Upstairs is the bathroom with spacious shower and washbasin and 2 double bedrooms. An extra bed can be added on request. The surface area is about 80 m2.The gîte named after the element FIRE used to have a gigantic stone oven, this is still visible in the kitchen. The warm atmosphere of the gîte is partly created by the central position of the wood-burning stove in the living room and the warm ochre colour with details of fire red.
Gîte Lune & Soleil
Perhaps the most romantic house. Where the pigs used to live, a cosy flat has now been created. The entrance is covered and is a lovely place to enjoy the evening sun and the view of the moon over the valley. On the ground floor is the living room with cosy wood-burning stove and open kitchen and the toilet. French windows give access to the private terrace. Upstairs are the bathroom with shower and sink, a double bedroom and a twin bedroom. The area is about 57 m2.
Gite l'Air
This part of the farm used to house the horses. Now it is a comfortable and cosy flat that still breathes the atmosphere of yesteryear.
On the ground floor are the spacious living room with cosy wood-burning stove and the open kitchen. Through the French doors you reach the private terrace overlooking the meadows. In the evening you can best see the orange-colored sunset in the bright blue sky from this cottage. Upstairs are the 2 double bedrooms and the bathroom with spacious walk-in shower, washbasin and toilet. The surface area is about 70 m2. The colors blue, white and airy lace alternate in this airy gîte. Even floating is possible in gîte l'Air. In the large hanging chair it seems as if you are literally sitting on clouds.

In the large barn, where first the farmer's tools were stored, gîte 'l'Eau has been built. From a once damp barn, a comfortable flat was built. The authentic details give it a warm atmosphere. Gîte l'Eau is well insulated and heated by electric radiators.
On the ground floor are the spacious living room and the open kitchen. Through the garden doors you reach the private terrace, overlooking the meadows with cows and the orchard. On the first floor are 2 double bedrooms and the bathroom with spacious walk-in shower, washbasin and toilet. The surface area is about 65 m2.This cottage based on the element 'water' has a beautiful look with different shades of blue and green, giving extra depth. In the garden on the terrace is a plunge pool placed to refresh in hot weather and during cooler days to give some blood circulation.

This is our beautiful penthouse above La Maison, suitable for 2-3 people. Gîte l'éther is a spacious open space with open kitchen and large dining table. A beautiful sleeping area and large sitting area. Everything has been newly renovated. The studio is a bit more modern, but with lots of wood elements, the beam construction and traditional brickwork is still visible. Gîte l'éther has beautiful views over the entire property. Accessible by stairs, so only suitable for people with good mobility. Downstairs is the private terrace. An extra bed for a third and possibly fourth person can be added on request. However, you will all sleep in the same room. The bathroom has a spacious walk-in shower, toilet and washbasin. The surface area is about 75 m2.

Boutique Comfort
The 4-star gîtes are spacious and offer every comfort. With excellent insulation and a lovely wood-burning stove in the living room, the gîtes are accessible all year round. Beautifully decorated in theme of the elements of nature, with comfortable furniture, they offer all the comforts you could wish for: HD flat-screen TV (including French and Dutch channels), DVD player, fully-equipped kitchen (dishwasher, combined oven or microwave, Nespresso coffee machine), top-quality bedding, free WIFI throughout the estate. Direct access to the outside allows you to enjoy the large private terrace with its breathtaking views over the surrounding countryside. A heated, fenced-in swimming pool with sun loungers completes the facilities on offer. During the high season, we open our table d'hôtes twice a week. A unique opportunity to savour authentic Burgundian dishes. In July and August, we offer a "bakery" service, so that breakfasts can be enjoyed to the full.
Relaxation
On a sunny day, imagine yourself relaxing by the pool with a great book. At night you're admiring the flames of your fire place with a glass of Burgundy wine in your hand. During the high season, you can also take advantage of the yoga classes by Annemarie or Marjolein, with or without your child(ren). Epicureans, meanwhile, can sample Burgundy wines, enjoy the local gastronomy or take part in a cookery class. And we haven't forgotten our youngest guests, who will also be able to enjoy the great outdoors thanks to our wooden playground, our swimming pool, our large field with a football and badminton pitch, and discover the animals of our countryside. And they'll be proud to join us in gathering wood for the evening campfire. During high season we serve Table d'hôte for all ages, breakfast and wine tastings. As you can see, there's something for everyone at La Vallée des Elements. And if that's not enough for you, there are plenty of other activities to discover in the region.
Adventure
Our "Vallée des Elements" estate is located in the countryside, far from the crowds and noise. right in the middle of the hills, surrounded by fields where Charolais cows and their calves graze under the watchful eye of the bull. The view of the Morvan mountains is breathtaking. Each season has its own charms. Small paths lead to the forest and the small lake, where you'll be surprised to discover a waterfall. Hinds, deer, foxes, hares, squirrels and a variety of bird species are our direct neighbours. The icing on the cake is the breathtaking starry nights! There's also plenty to do for adventurous children and parents; rafting, climbing, cycling, swimming or water sports in one of the Morvan's large lakes. And who knows, from time to time we could organise an exciting 'nature quest' with an overnight stay under the stars in the forest... How precious it is to give our children freedom, adventure and knowledge of nature!
Heated pool, garden and terrace
The solar panel-heated pool is freely accessible to everyone. Relax on the comfortable loungers with shade cloths or take a refreshing dip during the hot summer days.
The water is heated with solar energy. The pool is 7x11 meters, has a depth of 1.20-1.75 meters and is fenced. The gate cannot be opened from the outside, making it safe for children. Near the pool is a shower room where you can rinse off either hot or cold.
On the property there are several places to sit, where you can enjoy the surroundings in peace and quiet or in the company of other guests. There is a large covered terrace where you can sit sheltered at the log table. In good weather, dinner is served here and you can enjoy a cool glass of wine.
There is also a soccer field, badminton court and for the little ones a sandbox and a swing. You can light a fire in the fireplace, and there is also a barbecue with a picnic table.
On "Le Court" (the square) we will open a store this summer where you can get fresh croissants, bread and ice cream, among other things. We also sell seasonal vegetables, fruits and other local produce from our kitchen garden. Here you can also refill your eco soap, shampoo etc. if you need it. We strive for sustainable and ecologically responsible vacations.
On our heated terrace or next to our brand new outdoor kitchen, in the middle of filed, besides the vegetable garden we serve a weekly Table d'hôte, BBQ, pizza nights and wine tastings during high season .

Chef Willem (Bohiem Café Modern etc.) will join us with his great presence and talent. We are thrilled to have him here at our Domaine. Guests will be guided and taught about wine food combinations, finding truffles and other mushrooms, workshops for making your own delicious Burgundy style food, with ancient and pure techniques presented bij Willem. Its a true highlight for foodies and travelers.

Water sports and canoeing-kayaking
If you are a lover of water sports or just want to swim, you can have a great time at the large reservoirs Lac de Panneciere and Lac des Settons located in the heart of the Morvan. The imposing dam of Lac de Panneciere which you can cross by car is well worth a visit. Lac des Settons is the recreational lake of the Morvan where you can rent a boat, visit a beach or take a cruise. Canoeing is possible on the river Arroux, you can sail about 11 kilometres downstream through a breathtaking nature reserve.
Cycling and mountain biking
There's something for everyone. For the less experienced cyclist along the Canal du Nivernais - where there is a bike hire point - but there are also routes through the Morvan hills with challenging climbs for the more experienced cyclist. For mountain bikers there are many signposted trails in the immediate area leading to the most beautiful spots.
Trekking & walks
Right outside the farmhouse, you can enjoy some wonderful walks. There are many signposted footpaths nearby. A folder with hiking trails awaits you.

We had a lovely time at La Vallée des Elements and made nice splashes in the pool. Lovely relaxing and made lots of campfires. Fedde and I (Nadine 8) made lots of friends and went on fun walks and thanks again for the courgette soup. Delicious weeks they were! We enjoyed the cosy table d'hôte and we feel completely at home with the cows. Thank you so much and see you next year!"
