Bourgogne South 
&  Morvan

La Vallée des Elements is a century-old farmhouse surrounded by hedges with fenced pastures right next to the forest and on the edge of the hamlet of Las, 3 km from the village of Chiddes.Chiddes lies in the hills of southern Burgundy, the foothills of the famous Morvan Regional Nature Park, well known for its natural beauty. The Morvan, a higher granite massif, with its pine trees, ditches, valleys, panoramic views and rivers and lakes. 8 km from the pretty town of Luzy with its amenities and cultural activities. Sportive Activities

Trekkings & walks

Right outside the farmhouse, you can enjoy some wonderful walks. There are many signposted footpaths nearby. A folder with hiking trails awaits you.

Cycling and mountain biking

There's something for everyone. For the less experienced cyclist along the Canal du Nivernais - where there is a bike hire point - but there are also routes through the Morvan hills with challenging climbs for the more experienced cyclist. For mountain bikers there are many signposted trails in the immediate area leading to the most beautiful spots.

Water sports and canoeing

If you like water sports, like casting a rod or just fancy a swim, you can enjoy yourself on the large lakes Lac de Pannecière and Lac des Settons which are in the heart of the Morvan. The impressive dam at Lac de Pannecière, which you can cross by car, is well worth a visit. Lac des Settons is more the leisure lake in the Morvan where you can hire a pedal boat, visit a beach or take a cruise.Canoeing on the River Arroux, you sail about 11 kilometres downstream through a breathtaking sanctuary.

In the middle of the Morvan Regional Nature Park is the town of Villapourcon. In this small village is the Dragne waterfall. You walk through a cul-de-sac for motorised traffic towards the pastures then down a dirt track and through the forest to arrive at a small waterfall. This is hidden between rocks and gives clean, fresh water.

Golf

For golf lovers: Bourbon Lancy and Autun boast a 9-hole golf course.

Culture

Bibracte archaeological centre

Nearby is Bibracte on Mont Beuvray (800 m.), France's largest archaeological centre. Here, you can watch the excavations of the Celtic town of Bibracte with its 10,000 inhabitants, who settled here 2,000 years ago, enjoy the magnificent view from the top of Mont Beuvray or visit the museum.

Le Temple des 1000 Bouddhas

Himalayan style, the Buddhist temple Paldenshangpa de la Boulaye was founded in 1974 by a Tibetan lama. Raised on three levels, it houses gigantic statues of Buddhas and many colorful paintings. Walk through its garden decorated with colorful banners and a stupa, a pyramid-shaped Tibetan cult monument. All year round, you can visit the park, the temple gallery, the store and attend the rituals at 9 am and 6 pm with songs and music.


Castels

Châteaux still speak to the imagination of young and old alike. There are many to visit in the region, for example: Rochepot, Sully and Couches.

Churches and monasteries

There are many fine cathedrals and abbeys, for example in Autun, VĂ©zelay, Pontigny and Fontenay. The Abbey of Cluny, the richest and largest Benedictine monastery of the early Middle Ages, is well worth a visit.

Autun

The town of Autun is full of history and charm. Much Roman heritage is still visible inside and outside the town, including the great Roman theatre of ancient Gaul (in July and August the people of Autun have been letting history relive with a historical show for 27 years) and the cathedral with its famous tympanum, which is a masterpiece of Romanesque art. In addition, there are plenty of terraces and a beautiful historic quarter.

Weekly markets

Almost every town has a weekly market, and especially during the summer months there are various festivals.

Leisure Parks

Divertiparc

A lovely park for young children with all kinds of attractions such as climbing frames, zip lines, mazes, inflatable games, go-karts, etcetera, but also all kinds of livestock.

Le Pal

A beautiful animal park and amusement park in one! The 29-hectare estate boasts a wildlife park with more than 500 animals, including various species such as sea lions, parrots and birds of prey, all of which can be admired at the shows. There is also an amusement park with exciting attractions. For example, the park has three roller coasters, two wild water towers and an exciting 3D film.

Parc Touristique des Combes

A lovely little amusement park with fun for younger children too, with two toboggan runs, steam train, slide, water attractions and old cars.

Parc Intérieur Safariland

An indoor amusement park, particularly pleasant for a day with less good weather, with all kinds of attractions such as trampolines, inflatable attractions, mazes and slides.

Parc d'arbres d'escalade

A real climbing festival with an exciting course for children through the trees of the Burgundy region.

"La vie Bourguignonne"

Wine

You are less than 60 km from the vineyards of the famous Burgundy wines, which are based mainly on Pinot Noir (red) and Aligoté and Chardonnay (white). Here you can follow the tourist trail entitled 'Rue des Grands Crus', go wine tasting in the many caves or, a little further afield, visit the beautiful wine town of Beaune with the world-famous Hospices de Beaune, dating back to 1443.

Culinary Burgundy

And finally, there's culinary Burgundy, with its world-famous reputation for gastronomy. There are some very good restaurants nearby. We can give you all the information you need. In Burgundy, Burgundian life will become a reality!
